This year’s FITCE Congress is being hosted by the University of Salford at its MediaCityUK building (download the University’s guide to MediaCtyUK ) . MediaCityUK is located within the City of Salford, adjacent to Salford Quays, and approximately 2 miles west from Manchester city centre. There are excellent transport links with the Metrolink tram providing a direct service between MediaCityUK and Manchester city centre approximately every 6 to 15 minutes with a journey time of about 25 minutes. Metrolink also provides a service to/from Manchester Airport and MediaCityUK but this requires you to change trams at Cornbrook station. Metrolink is also integrated with the National Rail Network via Manchester Piccadilly, Manchester Deansgate and Manchester Victoria Railway Stations. There is a direct bus service between Manchester city centre and MediaCityUK using the Number 50 operated by Stagecoach. Road transport is also good with MediaCityUK being approximately half a mile south from Junction 3 of the M602 Motorway. The postcode for the University is M50 2HE. Manchester International Airport is 10 miles south of MediaCityUK with good public transport links into Manchester city centre and MediaCityUK via train, Metrolink tram or a combination of both.
The Transport for Greater Manchester website provides further details on all of the available travel options.
There are a number of hotels at, or close-by, MediaCityUK and a selection of these are listed below. Alternatively there is a very large range of hotels to choose from within Manchester city centre but this will require a journey by Metrolink tram, Stagecoach Number 50 bus or taxi to reach MediaCityUK.
Disclaimer: The following list of hotels is representative of the available provision and not complete. Listing these hotels does not imply that the University of Salford or FITCE are recommending any of them. You are therefore advised to use this list purely as a guide.
